Studio Art students have been working hard on their square-on-square colored pencil drawings, which are due TOMORROW (Friday, April 4). This due date was set three weeks ago, and has been in the grade book online and posted on the classroom board for the past three weeks. Look for grades to go in sometime early next week.
Art Design students are working on a choice project - which they must also submit a lesson plan-type writing assignment, explaining how they chose their work, materials and projects as well as how things were created (in a step-by-step method). Students must also come up with a handout of sorts that could eventually be given to students who may choose to create a similar project in the future. The purpose of these writing assignments is to allow students another outlet to explain their artwork and the processes behind it. This also forces students to think about their own though processes.
Art Design projects are due Wednesday, April 9 and are worth 200 points, which will be close to half of the nine weeks grade! The project itself will be based off of a 100-point art project and two 50-point writing assessments.
Below, you can find handouts on the choice project, as well as a SAMPLE lesson plan and a SAMPLE handout. Students are not required to complete steps B and D of the lesson plan.
